A prayer for life
May your life be a living blessing
moved only by the grace of God
may you walk lightly upon the flesh of earth
with feet grounded and toes unclenched.
may your spirit fly freely knowing yourself to be
both here, and far beyond here
May this knowing keep your heart
wider than the open sea
so the trade winds of life
can roar through unencumbered
while you remain
stiller than the night.
May the winds of change plant new seeds
unto your inevitable becoming
while you dwell peaceful in heart
content in spirit, faceless, without need.
May you welcome the kiss of the sun without holding
may you welcome the rain of grief without running
may the knowing of who you are
continue to wash you clean
from the mater of the changing
until you reside peacefully and silently
in the depths of your being.
May you always know
the treasure of your being
as the most precious gift
unto this world.
